The demands of modern construction have far outpaced the supply of corrosion-resistant reinforcing material. KingFisher Steel is geared toward the creation of corrosion-resistant reinforcing bars for general construction as a sustainable and long-lasting alternative to black steel.
KingFisher Steel utilizes an advanced pultrusion manufacturing process to create its materials. Unlike extrusion, in which material is pulled through a die, reinforcing bars made through pultrusion are pulled through forming machinery.
The durability of reinforced concrete is dependent on how resistant its reinforcing bars are to corrosion; black steel bars last for about 25 years, whereas stainless steel ones last for 75 years. The company’s GBar® concrete reinforcing bars do not corrode, giving them a life cycle of more than 100 years.
